New features in e~Print 3.1:

1.      Desktop Archiving

Now each repository admin can archive their own reports. It is not a superadminfunction anymore which requires server access. Steps: Archive -> Check Archive Log Manage ISOs (this steps allows to download archived report from server to CD or DVD)

2.      Automated report transfer from Banner via new tables GORBLOB and GORFLIX

This new feature allows to eliminate the necessity to ftp output from the Banner jobsub server to the e~Print server. It addresses e~Print’s problem of potentially overwriting a report output file while being parsed or still sitting in the incoming directory  simply because of a missing queue mechanism when output files for the same report are being ftped in too short intervals.

This feature only works with Banner INB jobsub. It would not work for AppWorx submitted Banner jobs unless they are being directed to run through INB jobsub.

3.      Admin Password Change

If you haven’t noticed a designated repository admin can’t change their own password. Now you can. The repository admin doesn’t have to request a change of the password through the superadmin.

4.      System/Repository message

 More prominently displayed

5.      New page formats

New page formats have been added to support larger landscape output reports specifically for adobe reports with 255 chars.

       Landscape5  225 chars

       Landscape6 213 chars

6.      e~Print support Luminis

Channels can be set up for Luminis. For us that should mean that a portlet can be created for it.

7.      e~Print is RAC compliant

Rac compliant but a repository config entry has to be changed. Set connection type to tnsnames. (plus other info requires failover db information)

e~Print is VPD compliant (virtual private database)
