cc.usu.edu accounts to be Discontinued

Email on cc.usu.edu, including WebMail, will be discontinued on November 1st 2008. Users of email on cc.usu.edu will need to migrate to one of the new USU email systems that became available in 2007. Users will be able to forward any incoming email to cc.usu.edu to their new email account and maintain and update that forward beyond the November 1st cutoff.

Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff should migrate to Aggies Exchange, the enterprise email system for campus.  To set-up and email account on Aggies Exchange please complete and return the form located at http://it.usu.edu/plugins/work/sitemaps/51/files/AggiesEmailAccount.pdf to the IT Service Desk.

Students, Alumni, & Emeriti

Students, Alumni & Emeriti have the option of migrating to Aggiemail. This is a Google hosted solution provided to USU with the USU Brand  To set up an Aggiemail account please visit:  http://it.usu.edu/aggiemail/htm/create-aggiemail-account

CC email accounts will be disabled on November 1st 2008

You can also choose to do nothing and your cc email account will be disabled on November 1st. Incoming email or stored email will no longer be accessible after this date.  We encourage you to migrate to a new system as soon as possible.

Please note that this only affects email on cc.usu.edu and not any other service.

Information about these email systems can be found at http://it.usu.edu/htm/email/new-email-systems

FAQ

Why is my cc.usu.edu Email account going away?

The system that your cc.usu.edu email account is on, is old hardware and software and no longer supported.  It is being retired.  In 2007 Information Technology brought two new email systems online for you to use.

What about other services on cc that I currently use?

The November 1st deadline only affects email services on cc.  Other services will eventually be retired, and notification will be provided before that happens.  Information Technology is currently evaluating suitable alternatives to many of the services currently being offered on cc.

I have tons of email stored in CC, can I download them?

The IT Service Desk can assist you with forwarding them onto your new system and explore options for archiving them.  Contact us at 435 797-HELP.

I want to keep my cc email address and have it forwarded to a new account, can I do that.

Yes.  You will be able to forward your email and continue to manage and update that forward past the November 1st deadline.  To set a forward on your cc account, please visit https://barney.usu.edu/compserv/maintainuser.shtml#forward

I do not use my cc email account and do not want to have it forwarded.  What do I need to do.

You can do nothing and your account will be disabled on November 1st 2008.  You will not be able to access any store email or receive email on cc or webmail after this date.  Your forwards will still work and you will be able to manage those forwards past the November 1st deadline.
