Information Technology’s Enterprise Data Operations (EDO) Team members are experts in database administration. The EDO team builds, hosts and supports enterprise resource applications and provides opportunities for the campus community to interface with these applications.
The EDO team offers the following services for the campus community:
The EDO team helps campus entities build great databases.
The EDO team properly and timely documents each database.
The EDO team manages all database servers and hardware. They timely resolve database issues such as: locking, timing out and trigger errors.
The EDO team secures all IT supported databases by building in and testing proper backup and recovery procedures. The EDO team develops and maintains disaster recovery plans for each database.
The EDO team performs routine upgrades to all databases.
Information Technology has an Oracle site license which the EDO team uses to provide hosting services. With a site license, the University can avoid high costs that come with growth and system upgrades and departments can avoid expensive, individual licenses.
The EDO team uses Real Application Clusters (RAC) and educates the campus community about the advantages of the RAC environment. Real Application Clusters software unites the processing power of multiple, interconnected computers into a single, robust computing environment.
