Network & Computing Services provides mailing list services (currently Mailman V 2.1.7) to manage email lists for approved university purposes. A partial list of available lists may be viewed at http://lists.usu.edu/mailman/listinfo/. Additional lists are created for approved requests and are advertised only by the list owner.
Use the general list information page (accessed through the above link) or send a mail message to the mailing list server at listname-request@lists.usu.edu
with the subject line :
subscribe [password] [digest-option]
If you choose to supply the password or digest-option, do not use the [ ] brackets. Your password must be given in the future to unsubscribe or change your options. Do not use sensitive information for your password as it may occasionally be emailed to you in plain text. If you do not provide a password yourself, one will be automatically assigned. The 'digest-option' may be either: 'nodigest' or 'digest' (no quotes!)
Send a mail message to the mailing list server at listname-request@lists.usu.edu
with the subject line:
unsubscribe password
Send mail to listname@lists.usu.edu
Remember to tell the list server when you want to join and leave, don't tell the list members.
When sending a message to the members of a list, remember that you are addressing a public forum and you are responsible for the content of your message. Your appropriate use agreement and relevant state and federal laws will apply.
Contact Information Technology. You should be prepared to provide some required information to set up the list.
