File transfers involves transferring files directly from one hard drive to another hard drive. Both hard drives must belong to the user. This does not include any formatting or OS reinstall.
Service to be offered to speed up machines that has slowed down since they were new. This would involve cleaning out startup folder, cleaning registry, updating system device drivers, and possibly defragmenting. May also be give suggestions to further increase performance.
Users purchase all components necessary for a new computer. The Service Desk will assemble hardware, set jumpers, and install hardware into case. Will also provide a power on test. No warranty is provided on PC assembly.
The Service Desk will perform a safe reload or a clean install of Windows. This does not involve backing up any of the users data or programs.
The Service Desk will backup a "single" folder, into which the user has assembled all the data he/she wishes to have backed up.
The Service Desk will backup a user's entire (single) hard drive. This may involve creating a "ghost" image if the user does not know specifically what data they want backed up. The user may then go through this data at a later time and decide what data they need.
Data Recovery is very labor intensive. The standard $20.00/hr rates apply with NO ½ free. There will be a minimum $10.00 charge. No Charge for data recovery / transfer on floppy disks for the first ½ hour.
Complete software installation is for users who want the Service Desk to install/reinstall the Windows OS or has had the Service Desk assemble their PC and want additional programs installed, such as Microsoft Office.
The Service Desk will burn on a CD software which is "freeware" or "shareware". The cost per CD is $2.00. Material which has a copyright (programs, games, music or video) will NOT be duplicated by the Service Desk.

The Service Desk will backup data onto a DVD (4.7GB capacity) or DL-DVD (8.5GB capacity) which contains either personal data, "freeware" or "shareware" programs. The rate to burn a DVD is $10.00 or $15.00 for a DL-DVD. Both include the media (DVD or DL-DVD) and burning the data onto the media. Material which have a copyright (programs, games, music or video) will NOT be duplicated by the Service Desk.
