VPN

VPN (Virtual Private Network)

By creating an encrypted stream between your computer and campus, USU's VPN (Virtual Private Network) server provides you with a secure, remote connection to the university network. Authorized users can access the university network from anywhere (home, hotel, conference, etc.) with a secure Internet connection.

Access to the Library's online resources are no longer available through a VPN connection.  For details on how to access the Library's online resources from off-campus please visit:  http://library.usu.edu/elecres/off_campus.php

For the VPN connection to be established, the system authenticates users with A-numbers and associated passwords (same as Banner).

The USU VPN does not require a client download. With no client to download, configuration is done through your current Windows or Macintosh operating systems.

VPN Configuration Made Easy

To simplify the VPN configuration process for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 users, Information Technology created an auto-configuration file. Download the auto-configuration file for Windows XP / Vista or Windows 7, elect the USU VPN Windows Installer from the following options.

Linux Users:  VPN connections through Linux systems are not supported.
