To simplify the VPN configuration process for Windows users Information Technology has created an auto-configuration file that Windows users may download and run to auto-configure their computer to use the USU VPN Server.
To download the USU VPN Windows Auto-Configuration Installer select either the .exe (executable) file or the .zip (zipped / compressed) file below.
Note: The files above are the same. One file is zipped so it provides a slightly smaller download.
Once you have downloaded the file to your computer complete the following steps to auto-configure the Windows VPN Client:
- Double click on the file you have downloaded (usuvpn.exe or usuvpn.zip)
- If you downloaded the .zip file it will open in another window, double click the usuvpn.exe file contained in that window
- Click "Yes" on the box that appears asking "Do you want to install the USU VPN Client?"
- Next, read the license agreement and click "Yes" if you agree and want to continue installing the USU VPN Client.
- Next, select whether you want to make the USU VPN Client available for all users on your computer or for "My use only"
- Place a check in the box to add an USU VPN icon to your desktop
- Adding the icon to your desktop will make it much easier to launch the USU VPN Client.
- Next, Click "OK"
- If your "Network Connections" window opens on your desktop go ahead and close that window.
- Congratulations! You have installed the USU VPN Client!
