This will help you create a connection to the USU VPN server in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard

Creating a VPN connection for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard

1.    Click on System Preferences in the apple menu.

2.    Click on the Network icon.

3.    If the lock icon looks “locked”, click on it and type in your Administrator Name and password.

4.    Click on the  button at the bottom of the list panel to add a new service (Located just above the Lock). A small sub-window will open.

5.    Select VPN in the Interface drop down menu.

6.    Select L2TP over IPsec in the VPN type drop down menu.

7.    Click Create; the small window will close.

8.    Select Add Configuration from the Configuration: drop down menu. A small window will open.

9.    Type in a name for the connection in the Name: field, and Click Create. The small window will close.

 Type in the following:

·          Server Address: vpn.usu.edu

·         Account Name: Your A#

Click Authentication Settings… A large window of options will open.

·         Select the Shared Secret: option.

·         Type: aggies in the Shared Secrets: field.

·         Click OK. The large option window will close.

Click Advanced… A large options window will open.

·         Check the Send all traffic over VPN connection box.

·         Click OK. The large options window will close.

Click Apply and then Connect.

When the Internet Connect window opens, Type your Banner password in the Password field and click OK.

When connected you will see “Status: Connected to 129.123.67.xxx”
