Is it safe? Yes. All credit cards are processed using the TouchNet Commerce Management System. TouchNet complies with the latest Payment Application - Data Security Standard (PA-DSS). Do I need my own web site? In order to use the USU E-Commerce solution you will need to either have your own web site or have a web site in ezPlug. ezPlug users will eventually be able to accept online registrations via a plugin. The E-Commerce rates will still apply, however. USU IT will also be implementing an online shopping cart solution in the near future.
Who can use this? Any USU entity needing to collect online payments.
What credit cards are accepted? - Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards are accepted. For your information the credit card service fee has been averaged to 2.5%. If you have additional questions regarding this service fee please contact the USU Controllers office.
Are my E-Commerce and Banner accounts related? The new E-Commerce solution is integrated with Banner. Each transaction will be entered into Banner and will show up on all financial reports. Please be aware that this may take up to a day to show in Banner. Credit card transactions will be fed directly into banner. USU p-cards will be batch processed nightly. This means that the actual dollar amount will not show in banner and on financial reports until the day following the transaction.
Is anyone currently using the new payment gateway? Yes. There are several university affiliated entities who have now implemented the new E-Commerce system.
Does Information Technology offer E-Commerce hosting? An E-Commerce plugin is now available for ezPlug users. The plugin allows for basic form creation in order to accept online payments by credit card or USU P-Card (OCC). USU IT is also working on providing an online shopping cart solution. Details regarding the shopping cart will be available as soon as possible.
