BluezoneUSU Computer Registration

Computers, printers, handhelds, and other devices that connect to the USU network will need to be re-registered starting August 11th...

USU Information Technology is working to simplify and secure the computer registration process at USU. Registration is necessary to access the Internet. To ensure that your computer is properly registered, simply open a web browser on or after August 11th and instructions will automatically be displayed if any action is required.

For specific questions, please contact your local IT support staff or contact the Information Technology Service Desk.

If your computer does need registration, you will be presented with instructions when you open a web browser on or after August 11th. Simply follow these instructions to register your computer.

Your local IT support staff may have already pre-registered your computer, so you may not notice a change.

Handheld devices that have Internet access, such as smartphones and some PDAs, will also need to be registered. Simply open a web browser on your handheld and follow the instructions to register this device.

Printers that are connected directly to the network will also need to be registered. This only applies to network printers; printers that are connected directly to a computer are not affected.

Most network printers at USU have been pre-registered. If your department or office network printer stops functioning on or soon after August 11th, you may need to register it.  You will need to find the MAC address of the printer and go to bluezone.usu.edu to register it. If you need assistance with registering your printer, please contact the IT Service Desk.
