Add and Edit Transitions

Subject Descriptors: Selecting Transitions, Applying Transitions, Remove Transitions, Replace Transitions

Application (Version): Camtasia 2.1 Windows XP, Windows Vista

Task Description: How do I select a transition? How do I apply a transition? How do I remove a transition? How do I replace a transition?

Tutorial Date: 3 June 2009, by Tim Holmes

NOTE:

You can only add or edit transitions while in Storyboard View. Transitions can only be placed between clips; you cannot begin or end a video with a transition.

Select A Transition

Select Transitions under Edit from the Task List.

To preview a transition, double-click on the transition and watch it in the video preview window.

Apply A Transition

To apply a transition, drag the transition onto the Storyboard between clips. A transition icon will appear indicating the transition has been applied.

Remove and/or Replace A Transition

To remove a transition, right-click on the transition icon and choose Remove from Storyboard. Or select the transition icon on the storyboard and press delete on your keyboard.

To change a transition, drag the new transition onto the storyboard over the transition you would like replaced.
