How Do I Capture a Screen Shot as a PDF in Acrobat

Subject Descriptors: PDF, Portable Document Format, Create PDF from screenshot, capture screen as PDf

Application (Version): Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - version 9.1.0 - Macintosh OSX 10.5.6

Task Description: I want to capture my computer screen, or a computer window as PDF files. How can I do this in Acrobat Pro?

Tutorial Date: 6 May 2009, by Nathan Smith

Open Acrobat Pro. Go to the FILE menu, and choose CREATE PDF -> FROM SCREEN CAPTURE

Be sure your screen is the way you want it before doing this. Acrobat will capture what's on the entire screen immediately.

Here's an example of the Capture Screen command...

If you want to just capture a window, choose CREATE PDF -> FROM WINDOW CAPTURE...

When you have chosen this command, the cursor changes to a camera icon. Click on the open window you wish to capture, and Acrobat will do the rest.

Example of a Window Capture using Acrobat Pro...

To capture your choice of a part of the screen as a PDF, choose CREATE PDF -> FROM SELECTION CAPTURE...

The cursor will change into a crosshair. Click and drag over a portion of the screen you wish to capture, then release the mouse button. Acrobat will open a PDF with that section of the screen.
