Moving files

Subject Descriptors: Adobe, Photoshop, Elements, Catalog, Move, File

Application (Version): Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 for Windows

Task Description: I want to move an image that is in my catalog in Adobe Photoshop. How do I do that?

Tutorial Date: 21 May 2009, Marita Jackson

Select the file you want to move...

When you have file that is already in your catalog, moving them in windows like you normally would could result in a loss of the file. Therefore, you should move them in photoshop.

File>Move...

A new window will appear...

You can add more photos to be moved at one time by click add and then waiting for the new window to appear.

Add/remove files...

You can select them indiviually, all at once or in groups (such as the entire catalog, from a certain album, etc.)

Browse...

After selecting browse on the first screen, you can select where you want to put the image. Select Ok when done. Once done, the image will be moved and Elements will know where it is.

Error when moving it manually...

Elements will look for it.

To correct, File>Reconnect>All Missing Files...
