First, Log into Blackboard at bb.usu.edu...

*Note: Your Blackboard password is the same as your banner password. This can be changed/updated at password.usu.edu.

If you have assessments available, an icon will be present under the course name.Click it to access them...

*Note: If the icon has a green box with a white checkmark, then the assessment(s) is new.

Or Click the course name and then ASSESSMENTS from the COURSE TOOLS menu.

Any assessments will be listed here... Select the one you want by clicking it. THIS WILL NOT START THE TEST...

From here it will display Start time, Due date, how many times you can take the quiz and any other details...

This is an example of the assessment screen...

1: Name of assessment open.
2: Your name, when it was started and the amount of questions in the whole assessment.
3: Time you started (in military time), time allowed for the assessment, how much time you have left.
4: Question Status.

Here is the Time and Questions status. Pay close attention to this, as you don't want to run out of time, or accidently skip any questions.

Here is the first question. It will show what number it is, and how many points it is worth. After you answer MAKE SURE YOU SAVE YOUR ANSWER. Your answers can be changed later as needed...

NOTE: If you don't save your answer, no matter if you got the question right or not, it will not record it and automatically mark it WRONG.

You can finish your assessment at anytime. If you didn't save your answers along the way, or are afraid you missed one, hit SAVE ALL before you click FINISH.

When you are done, the new window with the assesment will close automatically. You will recieve a confirmation that your assessment was submitted, as well as the time it was submitted. Click VIEW ATTEMPT to see how you did...

You can view your stats of your attempt here...

1: Attempt number out of how many attempts are available.
2: Title of the assessment you took.
3: The time you started and finished the assessment.
4: Time it took you to take the assessment.
5: Your score on the current attempt.
6: "Curved" Grading.
7: The maximum amount of points possible.

Reviewing your graded answers

After you see your grade, if the instructor allows, you can view what you got right and wrong immediately.
If not, you have to wait until the instructor grades it.
1: This symbol denotes what you answered.
2: Shows what your % was. For most assessments, this is all or nothing.
3: This symbol will be next to the right answer. This symbol is always a green box with a white checkmark WHEITHER OR NOT YOU GOT THE ANSWER RIGHT OR NOT. Be careful that you don't assume because it is a checkmark you got the question right!
4: Any feedback from your instructor will be listed here.
