USU & Information Technology partner with |
Both the ASUSU Academic Senate and Executive Council have unanimously approved a resolution recommending that USU IT partner with Google to host and dramatically enhance USU student email.
Here are some of the available features!!
Even though it will be hosted by Google, it will be a USU email address and an account that students can keep for life, even after they have completed their academic experience at USU! All for free.
Students can call or send instant messages to their contacts.
With any web enabled phone students can send and receive email, schedule and retrieve events and reminders from their calendar so they can stay connected!
Students can organize their schedules and share events and calendars with others.
Collaborating with peers, sharing and working together on documents, all online, is another great feature available to students!
With OODLES (or is it GOODLES) of space (over 2GB) students are able to keep a lot of mail. The USU Google partnership will provide advanced search tools to quickly locate the emails you need, no matter how many you keep around!
Sign up for a new account by following these procedures:
Users are allowed only one Aggiemail account at a time so be sure to create an account that you will want to keep. Because Aggiemail account names are based on your preferred name setting, it is important that your preferred name is set correctly in Banner before you setup your Aggiemail account. To check or change your preferred name in Banner, follow these steps:
Once your preferred name is set in Banner, you can go ahead and setup your Aggiemail account by doing the following:
For students who presently have an account on cc.usu.edu, you will also have the opportunity to create a new account on the new system. Both the new student email system and the current cc.usu.edu/webmail.usu.edu systems will be active simultaneously to provide ample time for transition. (Similarly, faculty and staff with cc.usu.edu accounts will also migrate to a new faculty/staff email system.) More information on the faculty/staff email can be found at: http://it.usu.edu/newemail/
While it is anticipated that all students will want to receive a USU Google email account, it is not mandatory. They can use a different email address. By default, official university email communication will be sent to the preferred email address entered into the Banner Access (SSB) system. Students should update their preferred email address in Banner to reflect the email address at which they wish to receive university information and email.
To change your preferred USU email address do the following:
Updates, other information, instructions, and support to assist in transitions are published and maintained on this site.
